Basic £30k+Bonus. (OTE £45-60k)

New Business as a craft has a great deal of respect within Nationwide Utilities and as such you’ll be in contact with senior-level and sometimes c-suite employees and should feel confident around these stakeholders. You’ll be owning the customer journey to create advocacy from a wide variety and scale of clients and looking to build opportunities after projects for the Account Management team to develop lasting relationships.

The role is SW London based with potentially nationwide travel where pitching face to face is required. Whilst balancing between working remotely or from the London office is a crucial requirement, you are hyper organised, empathetic self-aware and willing and able to communicate and collaborate with a team of super-talented people.

You must be a natural communicator who can work with people at all levels of the business and must be comfortable communicating with senior-level staff. You will be able to motivate others to produce work quickly, liaising with all departments – from sales support, marketing and account managers – to turn around leads speedily and successfully. You should be curious and friendly and most importantly, excited by winning.

Your experience to date need not necessarily be from within energy solutions. However, you must understand the decision-making processes that drive buying decisions in this sector and recognise the triggers that prompt organisations to review the market to consider changing suppliers. 

The task at hand:

  • Building and maintaining a new business pipeline from multiple sources (inbound, your network, self-sourced) that enables you to deliver results consistently on and above target.
  • You’ll need to be hungry, focused and self-motivated to mine LinkedIn for ever more contacts, pick up the phone and spread the word. 
  • Oversee the end to end journey of new client business with the support of a client services team. From qualifying the leads and setting up presentations to show solutions to building winning proposals and leveraging an internal network to move them through the sales cycle
  • Support a contact strategy and sales cycle, which includes a variety of push and pull tactics, events and thought leadership.
  • High level of attention to detail with data management in the CRM. Able to navigate dashboard reports to understand performance and be proactively managing personal development.
  • Build relationships across the business, ensuring the business development team is deemed professional, a beacon for new business best practice and the beating heart of the business
